A HISTORY OF SERVICE
The office of the Lubbock County Justice of the Peace is a very important part of county operations and law enforcement that serves our county. Mary Hernandez is trusted and respected throughout our numerous communities. She is uniquely qualified and has the experience to fill this seat and to serve us well. She has the knowledge of the laws and ordinances that are overseen by the office of the Lubbock County JP’s office. More importantly, she has no conflicts of interest that would benefit herself, her friends or her family. Her only wish is to serve you in a fair and impartial manner with common sense and compassion.

Grew up in Floydada, TX
Graduated from Floydada High School
Graduated from South Plains College
Graduated from the Lubbock Police Academy
Spent 13 years in patrol and 12 years in property crimes investigations
Retired from the Lubbock police department in 2014
Has no conflicts of interest
Consistent community volunteer
Member of Kiwanis Club, helping put flags out on holidays such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Flag Day, and Independence Day
Volunteer for Meals on Wheels
Volunteer for the Boys and Girls Club Annual Back to School Shopping Spree
Packing weekend food sacks for school kids
