PRECINCT 3 FOOD DRIVE
Hello Fellow Residents of Lubbock!
One of the reasons I am running for Justice of the Peace is because I love my community and I love to serve my community. I have spent a lot of time volunteering, including for organizations such as Meals On Wheels.
Right now, due to the federal government shutdown, people are hurting and people are hungry. We will not allow this to happen – not on my watch! I know there are many places offering food assistance, but sometimes those programs have a lot of hoops to jump through and can take forever.
This food drive is not just for seniors. It is for anyone who needs the help!
I have reached out to some local businesses, asking them to join my campaign efforts to help us feed people in our precinct, and God Bless them for standing up and being willing to help! For those of you reading who are in a position to help us, please sign up to do so! For those of you who need help, all you have to do is ask, but please be patient as we are just getting organized. We can offer you assistance in both English and Spanish!
For Donors and Volunteers – here is what we need:
Food (especially basics such as beans, white rice, pasta, fresh produce, tortillas, powdered milk, shelf stable milk, canned goods, canned meats including tuna, sardines, potted meat, chili beans, etc.) PET FOOD (labeled cats/dogs), gift cards for local restaurants, money (this will be used for food ONLY). We also ask that you go thru your closets, bathrooms, luggage, etc and find all those little hotel sized sundries such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc! We also need help with distribution and logistics. We need help getting the word out, so let everyone know!
We cannot accept clothing or other donations. Please contact your favorite charity if you have those types of donations.
For Recipients – here is what we need:
Your contact information and proof that you reside in the 3rd precinct. We need to know if you have any allergies. You do not need to worry about picking up your box, it will be delivered to you. You can see the Precinct 3 map on the Voting Info page.
Donors and recipients, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page.
